Seb Rametta possses the business acumen, the courage, and the operational skills required to put his ideas into reality. Seb Rametta has vertically-integrated experience in all aspects of the food and restaurant industry, including franchising, marketing, sourcing, manufacturing, restaurant operations, logistics, supply chain and menu development. The success story that started with the Arnie's Bagels, Inc, a wholesale manufacturer of all-natural premium, par-baked authentic New York bagels is far from being over.

As a highly regarded pioneer and leader in food industry, Seb Rametta has a keen eye for emerging opportunities, trends, and the shifting competitive environment. Thus, having built his wholesale bagel business to national leadership - with customers like McDonald's, Disney World, Dunkin' Donuts, Roy Rogers, Friendly's, A&P Supermarkets, King's Supermarkets, and other major national chains - Seb and his partners sold the business to Quaker Oats in 1994 at a huge profit.

Next up for Seb Rametta? Recognizing that shifts in health and the QSR market would put pressure on fried foods and open up new opportunities, Seb Rametta and his partner invested in Ranch*1 Group, Inc., an innovative New York City-based grilled-chicken franchise company.

"Ranch*1 had great recipes, great prices, a loyal customer base, a successful system and served fresh, healthful chicken" said Seb Rametta. "It met all our criteria; we wanted to dominate whatever market we entered, and Ranch*1 provided the edge we needed - including a nationally-visible location next door to the David Letterman Show. We teamed up with New York's number one radio personality, Howard Stern, to promote Ranch*1 on the airwaves."

Many people whould have stopped after the Ranch*1 success, but not Seb Rametta. Identifying the enormous possibilities in the "Original SoupMan" brand, Seb Rametta entered into an arrangement with Al Yeganeh in 2004, an arrangement which made the present company possible.

Responsible for the executive management of the company, Rametta is involved with day-to-day functions such as operations, sales and distribution. He is also involved with strategic relationships and joint ventures; product development; and customer experience. Seb Rametta's involvement and commitment to the SoupMan entity from its early developmental phases provides him with pespective, knowledge and expertise which are indispensable for the current and future success of the company.

The company's activities include ownership and and franchising of Original Soupman restaurants; distribution of a retail line of premium, gourmet "heat-n-serve soups," and operation of an ecommerce website.

    Does anybody know how to make the fried chicken from the famous Korean franchise called Kyochon?
    My husband went to Korea for a year, and he absolutely loves their chicken, I would be greatly in-debted to you if you could give me some insight as to how to go about making it!!!

    • ANSWER:
      Closest I could find to technique was this helpful website... No ingredients are divulged but the technique is really helpful!

      Korean-style fried chicken is radically different, reflecting an Asian frying technique that renders out the fat in the skin, transforming it into a thin, crackly and almost transparent crust. (Chinese cooks call this “paper fried chicken.”) The chicken is unseasoned, barely dredged in very fine flour and then dipped into a thin batter before going into the fryer. The oil temperature is a relatively low 350 degrees, and the chicken is cooked in two separate stages. After 10 minutes, the chicken is removed from the oil, shaken vigorously in a wire strainer and allowed to cool for two minutes. This slows the cooking process, preventing the crust from getting too brown before the meat cooks through. It also shaves off all those crusty nubs and crags that American cooks strive for.After 10 more minutes in the fryer, the chicken is smooth, compact, golden-brown, and done. Then, it’s served plain (with a small dish of salt and pepper for seasoning) or lightly painted with sauce. When it’s done correctly, the sauce is absorbed into the crust, adding savor without making it soggy.

  9. QUESTION:
    How can the synopsis of the movie: Robot Chicken claim the Star Wars franchise had 141.8 quadrillion revenue?
    Is it possible? If so, how is it possible? It is: 1,800,000,000,000

    • ANSWER:
      You're forgetting one big thing when it comes to any of the "Robot Chicken" episodes ... they are meant to be "funny" things, which more often than not they are, so, since they are essentially humor based being true to the facts of the movies is impossible.

      BTW, the last I checked Star Wars had just a little over 5 billion in profit through world wide box office and merchandising.

    I live in London and am thinking of having a franchise with these companies but not really sure which to go for in terms of profitability. Both franchise cost about the same amount. What do you guys think? Please I need all sincere opinion and advice. :(

    • ANSWER:
      www.auntieanna's.com
      www.mrpretzels.com
      www.pretzelmaker.com

      could not find any chicken and chips sites

      When you consider the amount of equipment/cost/insurance/danger of injury from HOT grease,size and rental costs of facility to house everything plus the cleaning up factor compared to just baking dough.It kind of leans toward the pretzel biz.
      Of course there is the franchise fees + additional charges franchisees have to pay, I grimace at the costs you have before you pay your staff and other over head costs. What kind of profit less taxes will you make slinging chicken & chips.
      My opinion is if you want to make dough you got to roll some dough (I apologize for the terrible pun)

      heat 1.5 inches of oil in a pan to 350 degrees. This is probably the most critical part of frying a chicken is the ability for steam to escape through the part of the chicken out of the oil.

      mix 1 cup flour with
      1 tsp paprika
      1/2 tsp rubbed sage
      salt and pepper to taste

      rinse chicken, shake off excess water and dredge chicken through flour mixture. Set aside on plate.

      beat two eggs in a shallow bowl. Take the chicken that you just dredged and immerse it in the beaten egg. Now take that chicken and roll in a plate of CRUSHED corn flakes.

  47. QUESTION:
    help me to do this math question about derivative?
    .A fried chicken franchise finds that the demand equation for its new roast chicken product, "Roasted Rooster", is given by
    p=48/ q^1.5
    where p is the price (in dollars) per quarter-chicken serving and q is the number of quarter-chicken servings that can be sold per hour at this price. Express q as a function of p, and find the elasticity of demand when the price is set at per serving.

    • ANSWER:
      p * q^1.5 = 48
      q^1.5 = 48 / p
      q = (48 / p)^(2/3) = (48 * p^-1)^(2/3)

      When p = 6,

      q = 8^(2/3) = 4

      As a check,

      6 = 48 / 4^1.5
      6 = 48 / 8

      Yes!!!

      BabyGirl is wrong in her third equation. She handles the 1.5 incorrectly.

      The elasticity of demand at any particular price is (% Change in Quantity Demanded)/(% Change in Price).

      Let us start by taking the first derivative of the demand function:

      q' = (2/3)(48 * p^-1)^(-1/3) * (-48) * (p^-2)

      For p = 6,

      q' = (2/3) * 8^(-1/3) * (-48) * (6^-2)
      = (2/3) * (1/2) * (-48) * (1/36)
      = (1/3) * (-48) * (1/36)
      = -16 * 1/36
      = -16/36 = -4/9

      This means that at p = 6, for each dollar increase in p, the quantity demanded goes down by 4/9.

      Let's do a rough check on that before going on.

      For p = 7,

      q = (48/7)^(2/3) = 3.6, down from 4.

      Close enough. Let's go on.

      The % change in price is (7 - 6) / 6 = 1/6
      The % change in the quanitity demanded is

      (old quantity - new quantity) / old quantity
      (4/9) / 4 = 1/9

      The elasticity of demand is

      (1/9) / (1/6) = 2/3

      An elasticity of less than 1 means that as the price increases, the quantity demanded does not fall proportionately. It falls less than proportionately, leading to an increase in gross revenue.

      Let's see. At p = 6, the quantity demanded was 4, for a gross revenue of 24. At p = 7, the quantity demanded is 4 - 4/9, or 32/9, leading to a gross revenue of 7 * 32/9 = 224/9 = 24.89, up from 24.

      1 lb butter
      1 3/4 lbs chicken tenders (or boneless breasts, pounded thin)
      2 tablespoons olive oil
      2 tablespoons butter
      1/2-3/4 cup flour, seasoned with garlic pepper salt
      12 slices pre- cooked bacon, chopped
      2 roma tomatoes, chopped
      1/2 onion, thinly sliced (I used purple, for color)
      12 ounces thin spaghetti, cooked

      Cook pasta; drain. (While it is cooking, prepare chicken and veggies, and then sauce.).
      Chicken: Dredge chicken in seasoned flour; melt about 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil in large skillet. Cook chicken until lightly browned and just cooked through (don't overcook, or it won't be tender).
      Remove from pan, and keep warm.
      Veggies: Saute the onions (in the remaining butter/oil) until fairly tender. (You could add mushrooms at this point, if desired.) Then add bacon and tomatoes, and toss until heated through. Remove from pan, and add to drained spagetti noodles.
      Sauce: Heat the lemon juice and wine to a boil; simmer and reduce by 1/3. Add cream and simmer until thickened (3-4 minutes). Slowly add butter, and stir until completely melted. Season with salt and pepper.
      Place chicken tenders atop the noodles, pour on the sauce, and gently stir to completely mix all ingredients.

  50. QUESTION:
    Does Cracker Barrel have chicken fried steak?
    We just got one here & I'd like to take husband for his birthday; we've never been there. All he ever orders is chicken fried steak.
    Does Cracker Barrel have this? Is it like a real steak with a good batter or some paper thin, bread crumb battered, TV dinner type fare?

    Would you compare it to Chilis or Chedder's or some other well known (franchise) good chicken fried steak?

    What is the average cost of chicken fried steak at cracker barrel? (don't wanna walk in & get sticker shock!)

    I am now laughing at the yankee who apparently has never had chicken fried steak--or either this person is *trying* to be funny.

    What's inexpensive to you guys? Around for 2 people maybe? I can't find a menu online

    • ANSWER:
      They have Country Fried Steak and Chicken Fried Chicken. I don't know exactly how much it is but it would probably be around the for 2 that you estimated. Cracker Barrel is usually pretty reasonable (and delicious).

      Here's a link to their menu, but it doesn't have prices: http://www.crackerbarrel.com/menu-fancyfixins.cfm?doc_id=899
